Ali and Jason | Calamigos Ranch in Malibu

It has definitely been too long since my last post!  I have been through some very exciting and busy times in the last few months and can't wait to update everyone over the holidays once I find some time to post some amazing weddings and updates.

I'm thinking my new years resolution will once again have blog more often on the list!

When I first met Ali at our initial consultation I knew right away that I absolutely loved her style!  She had a chic, vintage, yet rustic style which I absolutely adore.  Calamigos Ranch was the perfect location for her lace and lantern inspired flora pieces.  From the waterfall in the backdrop of the reception room, to the outdoor chandeliers and natural vines gazebo.  It was the perfect location for such a perfect couple.  Thank you so much for letting me be a part of such a beautiful and intimate day!

We designed her flowers with dinner plate dahlias, peach garden roses, sweet stock, lisianthus, and small touches of queen anne's lace.  Personally a touch a queens anne's lace makes anything rustic and sweet :)

We also customized her centerpieces with a burlap wrap and a hand crafted silver flower with tulle and lace to soften up the rustic style.

Here are a few pictures from the event:

Queena + Steve | Castle Green in Pasadena

The moment I met Queena and Steve, I knew they were in love! Their elegant style and fun personality was a perfect match for A Touch of Lavender. I always tell my bride's and groom's my style of planning is simple: "I'm like your best friend for the months to come!" For this couple it's true and I'm so happy to still be in touch with them.

Our planning began with venue hunting and our traffic ridden drive to Pasadena. The moment Queena saw Castle Green she fell in love with it! An outdoor ceremony with a vintage castle background and a building with history and decor that made you feel like a princess. Queena & Steve wanted a wedding that would leave their guests enjoying good food, laughing, and simply celebrating their special day together. Guests were greeted with the lovely sounds of a string quartet as they entered the ceremony. Following the ceremony was the traditional cocktail hour with tray passed hors d'oeuvres. The Reception is where the excitement and fun began. Guests were greeted with a wedding singer, lavish floral arrangements, and a candy/dessert display that would make anyone have a sweet tooth.

Victor + Effie | Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes

Effie & Victor was such an amazing couple who definitely trusted ATOL to be by their side on their special day.  We worked with them from start to finish and we can not be more in love with their story.  After dating for a decade, the couple still gave each other butterflies.  Not only could they finish each other sentences, but they loved to pick on each other in a sweet, cute, and innocent school love type of manner. Every time they were together it reminded me of the young love you see in high school, where the boys pick on the girls and the girls got them back with a witty remark.  It was an absolute pleasure working with them and the amazing vendors who made their wedding vision come to life.  Here is a sneak peak of their wedding!  I will definitely update you on their story and wedding details/photos in the next post.

For now I leave you with an amazingly beautiful highlight video created by alumiq productions:

Backyard Wedding Sneak Peak

It has been an amazing year filled with inspiration, love, and tons of new friendships.  I've had the privilege of working with so many creative brides!  I can truly say every wedding has been special to me. I promise to keep you posted over the holiday along with a "A Touch of Lavender New Years Resolution."  The to do list is always never ending :)

Here's a sneak peak at a backyard wedding! This wedding was for a beautiful couple who wanted something intimate, unique, and cozy.  I love the idea of transforming their new home into a warm, welcoming, and romantic venue.  Their inspirations came from tons of home furniture decor, backyard wedding blogs, and DIY designs. I promise to share their story along with the beautiful photos captured!

For now here's a sneak peak of the before & after:

Cassie + Andrew | Segerstrom Hall in Costa Mesa

It was such a pleasure working with Cassie & Andrew from the moment I met them! Cassie was a bride with a vision. She was a DIY type of bride and blew me away with all her creative details. Not only did this bride design their signature "C+A" logo, but she even made her own bouquet. During our first meeting together she described her wedding vision to be "clean, crisp, and modern." I remember laughing with them about her "clean" vision. I was amazed by how detailed everything was at this gorgeous wedding, but somehow everything was portrayed to be simple, clean, and modern. She was able to portray her style of clean, crisp, and modern wedding designs through her wedding dress, flowers, and design set up. The floor to ceiling glass windows, candles, and white chiavari chairs were finishing touches that created the final look.

Check out these gorgeous photos by Memories by Michael Photography

Cassie & Andrew love to travel and included this "Where have you been to" map for their guests to enjoy and interact with during cocktail hour.

To play up their travel theme they designed a candy buffet with desserts from around the world. Guests enjoyed Pocky, choco pies, ring pops, toblerone, and much more.

Guests were provided sandals to ensure that they could dance the night away! They even broke out into a fun dance that they choreographed during their first dance to get their guests excited.

Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness.  May you both travel the world together creating memories of love and adventure!

Angela + Nick | Hotel Maya in Long Beach

Angela and I instantly connected after our initial consultation. She was a bride with a beautiful wedding vision of iconic ceramic love birds, crystal candle holders, and burlap runners. I believe her wedding style was a elegant rustic look that was put together beautifully.

Check out the beautiful photos captured by Dahl photography.

During the ceremony they traded the traditional sand ceremony by filling an hour glass with sand that would later be displayed in their home. Guests sent their love and wishes to the new couple by blowing bubbles during the ceremony recessional.

The Reception was filled with a surprise performance by the bride to the groom, beautiful speeches, fun games for the guests, and comedic garter toss.  This was definitely a reception guests walked away from enjoying every minute. I always tell my couples the best weddings represent my couples. From traditional cultural details to details that simply remind guests why you both are together.

Crescent Bay Films captured this beautiful couples love & special wedding moments. Check out their wedding highlights!

Angela and Nick are one of the most sweetest and fun couples I have met. Every meeting I had with them they always made me smile. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and of course a beautiful future filled with tons of laughter & memories! Thank you again for letting me be apart of your special day!
